Arizona Charter Students Featured on Disney Channel Video

Students from Imagine Prep at Surprise joined two Disney Channel stars in a workshops designed to give youth leaders a deeper understanding of their leadership styles. At the leadership camp, the students learned how to become leaders in their community and create safe schools for ALL kids with Bella Thorne and Zendaya. Construction Companies Donate Library Books and Supplies to Phoenix Charter

D. L. Withers, Orcutt|Winslow and over 25 subcontractors donated library shelving and more than $19,000 for books and supplies to the newly opened Reid Traditional Schools’ Painted Rock Academy. This generous donation came after D. L. Withers staff heard the school would open without a library. “We heard the school administration tell parents that the library books and furniture would be the first fund-raising project for the new school, so we wanted to give them a head start,” said Dan Withers, President of D.L. Withers Construction. This is a wonderful partnership and response to children in need!

BASIS Student Wins Jane Austen Essay Contest

BASIS Scottsdale student, Navya Dasari won second prize in the Jane Austen Society Essay Contest high school division for her essay, “Manipulation: An Effective Vice in Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion.” Navya won a $500 scholarship, a gift set of Jane Austen’s novels, and free registration and two nights lodging at the Jane Austen Society’s Annual General Meeting in Brooklyn, New York on October 5-7. Congratulations Navya!
